F/W ‘25: A Look Behind the Scenes

Each season, I approach design with a sense of curiosity and intention—balancing what feels modern with what will remain timeless. The research process is layered: I study runway collections, materials innovation, cultural shifts, and evolving customer behavior. For Fall/Winter, I’m particularly drawn to how tailoring is evolving—less rigid, more expressive, as seen in the work of The Row and Louis Vuitton. I look at how designers are using bold accents like statement belts to transform structure, or how faux fur is being used to bring glamour without compromise. Color plays an emotional role—this season’s vibrant palettes are a welcome contrast to winter greys. I’m also inspired by how sustainability continues to shape creativity, with designers repurposing materials into elevated forms. Denim, too, is shifting—leaner, more refined silhouettes and turn-up hems speak to a subtle reinvention of casualwear. And finally, the richness of textured outerwear reminds me that the garments we wear daily can still feel indulgent. Every choice in my seasonal design process is guided by what’s relevant now—while imagining what will still feel right seasons from now.

Once I’ve immersed myself in the research and gathered inspiration from runways, street style, materials, and emerging cultural moods, the next step is building the mood board. This is where the vision for the season starts to take shape visually. I use this board to distill everything I’ve observed—tailoring details, standout colors, textures that evoke a certain feeling—and begin connecting the dots. It’s not just about aesthetics; it’s about creating a clear visual direction for the collection. The mood board becomes my north star, guiding fabric selection, silhouette development, and the emotional tone of the line. For Fall/Winter '25, it’s helping me curate a story that feels bold yet refined, warm but still sharp—with each element serving a purpose in expressing the season’s point of view. This coming Fall/Winter is shaping up to be one of my favorites yet.
